5th Gear’s diesel-petrol duel: Opel Astra GTC vs Triple 8 Astra GTC1.9 CDTi
Although it still unknown if Opel’s Astra GTC top version, the OPC (Vauxhall Astra VXR in Britain) will be available in the US as a Saturn, I found this video from 5th Gear Magazine quite amusing.
So what did those folks over Britain do? They put the 2.0 Turbo 240 hp Astra OPC against it’s diesel sibling, the Astra 1.9 CDTi. But wait, before you think that the match is uneven, I must tell you that this the turbo-diesel Astra is tuned by a company named Triple 8. So instead of producing 150 Hp, this sporty diesel pulls out 196 Hp. The duel consist of 3 challenges, one of whom is the classic ¼ mile drag race.
